Filter Plate Sealing Strip
The sealing strip of the filter press is an important part of the filter plate and filter cloth of the filter press and plays a key sealing role. It is generally used in gasketed filter presses. The sealing strip can ensure that the liquid or slurry between the filter plates will not leak during the filtration process. The quality and material of the sealing strip will affect the working efficiency and service life of the filter press.
For some special materials, a filter press with higher sealing performance is required, such as materials with corrosive chemicals or radioactive hazardous substances. The sealing strip needs to be fixed on the filter plate and filter cloth to prevent leakage and pollution.
There are several types of sealing strips, such as rubber sealing strips, silicone sealing strips, and EPDM sealing strips. Rubber is the most common material, has good elasticity and wear resistance, and is suitable for most common filtrates and working environments. Silicone is high-temperature resistant and anti-aging, and it is suitable for use in environments with high temperature or corrosive chemicals. EPDM sealing strips have excellent acid and alkali resistance and are suitable for filtration processes in acid and alkali environments.
Sealing strips are mainly used to seal filter plates to prevent material leakage and are often used in gasketed filter plates. Usually, grooves around the gasketed filter plate are used to fix the filter plate and the sealing strip. The installation method is simple. Simply cut the sealing strip to the appropriate size and fit it into the groove. The sealing strip on the filter cloth is usually sewn on the edge of the filter cloth and then installed on the filter plate together with the filter cloth.
The sealing strip should also be maintained and cared for during normal use. As the use time increases, it will gradually become damaged. The integrity of the sealing strip should be checked regularly to ensure that there are no cracks, deformations, or hardening. The sealing strip should be cleaned after each use to prevent the accumulation of residual substances that affect the sealing effect. If the sealing strip is found to be aging or damaged, it should be replaced in time to avoid affecting the normal operation of the filter press.
