Precautions for Daily Use of Belt Filter
The system matching of belt filters is relatively complex. The belt filter has a high degree of automation and there are many related constraints in operation. If you want the equipment system to operate stably for a long time in an unmanned state, you need to pay attention to the following points.
Mud-Drug Coordination Relationship
By adding flocculants, small molecules in the water are turned into large molecules until they become flocs. The use of a belt filter requires that the material after the mud-drug is mixed should be in the form of flocs rather than just flocculated together, that is, the mixed material is distributed on the filter belt of the belt filter, and there is an obvious separation of mud and water, so that the free water is quickly separated in the gravity dehydration section. When the mud-drug coordination is in the best state, the equipment works in the best state.
Belt Deviation and Flocculation Problems
The key to whether the belt filter can operate normally and stably for a long time is the degree of belt deviation. Under normal conditions of the supporting equipment system, the equipment is often forced to shut down due to serious belt deviation, affecting the normal operation of the equipment.
In addition, if the flocculation is not good, the material passes through the filter belt mesh and is squeezed onto the roller, resulting in the formation of some uneven thickness films on the roller surface, and the filter belt will deviate to the side of the roller with thicker film. Therefore, during operation, it is important to observe whether the material is already in a flocculent state and to distribute the material.
Flushing the Filter Belt
Flushing the filter belt is a very critical part of the equipment. When the filter belt completes a working cycle, the residual solids are washed away to restore the filter belt to the best water permeability possible and continue the next working cycle. If the flushing effect is not good, it will directly affect the filter cake output and moisture content when entering the next cycle. Therefore, the operator must attach great importance to the flushing effect of the filter belt and give full play to the function of the flushing device.
Material Leakage
Excessive distribution of materials and poor washing of the filter belt will cause the material to be squeezed out from both sides of the drum. This phenomenon is commonly known as “material leakage”. “Material leakage” is also directly related to pressure and flocculation effect. Excessive pressure causes the material to be squeezed out by strong pressure before it reaches a stable state after entering the extrusion section. At this time, the cylinder pressure should be adjusted appropriately.
In addition, due to the poor flocculation effect, most of the material is often squeezed out after extrusion. Therefore, when the operator sees “material leakage”, he should carefully analyze the cause and take corresponding measures.
The Moisture Content of the Filter Cake
The moisture content of the filter cake is related to the material’s own characteristics, as well as the tension of the filter belt, the speed of the filter belt, and the thickness of the cloth. Under the same conditions, when the tension is high, the belt speed is slow, and the filter cake is thin, the corresponding mud cake moisture content is low, and vice versa. Therefore, the operator can master the above mutual constraints and adjust the operation of the equipment according to needs.
Concentration of Flocculant Preparation
The preparation of flocculant is related to the solid content of the material to be treated. For high molecular-weight flocculants with the same molecular weight, the preparation ratio should be low when the material has a high solid content. On the contrary, the preparation ratio should be high when the material has a low solid content. It is also important to pay attention to science.
Conclusion
In short, the belt filter press is a device with a wide range of applications and a good filtering effect among the existing solid-liquid separation equipment. It has the advantages of easy operation, a high degree of automation, long service life, and convenient maintenance. As long as the operator can pay attention to the above issues and operate and use the equipment skillfully, it will play a good role.
