Filter Cloth Shipment to Singapore

Filter Cloth Shipment to Singapore

At the end of February, the filter cloth sent to Singapore was shipped.

The Singapore customer’s company mainly filters cement wastewater generated after cleaning commercial concrete. The filter press used is a 10㎡ membrane filter press, so they need to purchase some filter cloths for use.

The customer sent us an inquiry, and we A quotation was given and cooperation was reached. The customer purchased a 750B model filter cloth from our company to be used with a membrane filter press. After the factory processing is completed, we arrange the delivery and look forward to the customer’s signature and use.

Filter cloths, an integral part of the filter presses, come in various materials and designs, each tailored to specific filtration requirements. Understanding the types of filter cloth and their applications is crucial for efficient and effective filtration.

Different Materials of Filter Cloth are Suitable for Different Applications.

  • Polypropylene (PP): Widely used due to its excellent chemical resistance and cost-effectiveness, polypropylene filter cloth is suitable for a broad range of applications, especially in industries dealing with water treatment, mining, and chemical processes. It operates well in environments where acid and alkali resistance is essential.
  • Polyester (PET): Known for its high strength, durability, and good resistance to most organic solvents and oxidizing agents, polyester cloth is commonly employed in the pharmaceutical, food, and beverage industries.
  • Nylon (PA): Nylon’s excellent abrasion resistance makes it ideal for applications involving abrasive particles. Nylon is often found in the mining and quarrying industries, particularly in the filtration of fine particles.
  • Cotton: Cotton is a natural fiber used in special applications where finer particles need to be filtered at lower temperatures. It is mainly used in general filtering situations.

Filter Cloths with Different Weaves have Different Applications.

  • Monofilament filter cloth: The filter cloth whose warp and weft threads are woven with monofilament is called monofilament filter cloth. The holes of the monofilament filter cloth are not easy to block, and the filter cake is easy to peel off. It is suitable for occasions where filter cake needs to be obtained. This kind of filter cloth is widely used in vacuum belt filters.
  • Multifilament filter cloth: The filter cloth whose warp and weft threads are woven with multifilament is called multifilament filter cloth. Multifilament filter cloth captures fine particles and is suitable for vacuum filters, vertical filter presses, disc filters, plate and frame filters, and centrifuges.

Examples of Filter Cloth Supporting Models

  • Recessed (Chamber) Plate Filter Presses: Cloths for these presses are usually made to fit into the recess of the plates. They may have a gasketed edge if the plates are designed for gasketed cloths. The cloth often has a center feed eye to align with the press feed port.
  • Membrane Filter Presses: These presses require flexible cloths that can accommodate the inflation of the membrane. The cloth material and weave need to withstand the stress of the membrane’s movement during the filtration process.
  • High-Pressure Filter Press: In applications involving high-pressure filtration, the filter cloth must be strong enough to withstand the tremendous pressure. High-strength materials such as polypropylene and polyester are often used.

Filter Cloth Matching Principles

  • Size and Shape: Make sure the filter cloth size and corner holes are aligned with the filter plate.
  • Closing and fastening mechanisms: Some filter cloths are designed with specific fastening systems, such as buckles, ties, or clips.
  • Inlet and Outlet: The opening of the fabric should match the location and size of the press inlet and outlet.

As the core component of solid-liquid separation equipment, filter cloth has a decisive influence on the filtration effect. A suitable filter cloth will produce filtrate clarification during the filtration process, with less solid phase loss. The filter cake can be easily removed after filtration. The filter cloth is not easily clogged, can be easily backwashed and reused, and has a long working life.
