Introduction of Plunger Pump for Filter Press

The YB series ceramic plunger pump operates as a hydraulic-driven, dual-bar, double-action positive displacement mechanism. Mainly suitable for circular high-pressure filter presses to treat ceramic, kaolin and stone wastewater, etc. The maximum pressure can reach 2.0Mpa. Crafted with α-type alumina for the plunger, it boasts exceptional resistance to wear and corrosion. Additionally, its resilience to acids and alkalis, user-friendly operation, ease of maintenance, and extended lifespan make it an optimal choice for solid-liquid separation tasks, especially in conjunction with a filter press.

In the realm of solid-liquid separation, the filter press stands out as a critical component, and the integration of the YB series ceramic plunger pump enhances its efficiency manifold. Its precise metering and stable output ensure that the filter press receives a uniform supply, reducing the chances of operational hiccups. Furthermore, the pump’s durability and resistance to corrosive substances mean that even when dealing with challenging slurries or chemically aggressive liquids, the filter press system remains uncompromised. This synergy between the pump and the filter press not only streamlines the separation process but also extends the overall equipment life, ensuring cost-effective and reliable operations for industries.

Filter Press Plunger Pump Working Principle

Intake Phase: As the plunger retracts, the feed valve opens, linking the cylinder cavity within the plunger to the feed port, drawing the liquid into the plunger’s cylinder.
Ejection Phase: With the plunger’s forward motion, the feed valve shuts, connecting the plunger’s cylinder cavity to the discharge port. This forward movement reduces the cylinder’s volume, forcing the liquid out.
Pressure Build-up: As the plunger advances, the diminishing volume in the cylinder compresses the liquid, escalating the pressure. By the time the plunger reaches its foremost position, the pressure peaks.
Cyclic Operation: The plunger then starts its backward journey, reopening the feed valve and allowing liquid to refill the cylinder. This repetitive motion consistently amplifies pressure, directing the liquid toward the filter press for processing.

Plunger Pump Advantages

Durability: The plunger, crafted from finely ground alumina ceramic, boasts a hardness exceeding HLC8.5 and a surface roughness of 0.4um.
Impressive Self-priming: Utilizing a plunger-type vacuum method, it has a self-priming range of 4-8 meters, though this can vary based on the material’s specific gravity.
Consistent Pressure Regulation: The working pressure of this mud pump is adjustable within a 0-20 kg range. Once set, this pressure remains unaffected by any variations in the pump’s output flow rate.
High-Pressure Capability: Standard models can achieve pressures up to 20 kg. Notably, when operating at pressures ≥ 5 kg with consistent flow rates, the plunger mud pump’s motor power is 1 to 2 sizes smaller than other pump varieties.
User-Friendly: Pressure adjustments are straightforward – simply tighten or loosen the pressure regulating valve. Once set and locked, there’s no need for future recalibrations.
Cost-Efficient: The pump’s primary wear components are its valve discs and plunger seals. Ceramic mud requires replacements every 3-6 months, while municipal sludge necessitates changes every 6-12 months.
Extended Lifespan: Designed to last for a minimum of 15 years.

Precautions of Plunger Pump

Medium Working Conditions: Ensure the medium transported by the plunger pump is free from large particles to prevent operational failures. For environments requiring no iron contamination, opt for stainless steel plunger pumps. For acidic or alkaline media, choose anti-corrosion plunger pumps.
Flow Range: While the plunger pump model indicates the nominal flow rate, it’s essential to factor in an appropriate margin when making your selection.
Pressure Level Assessment: The plunger pump’s rated pressure can achieve 2.0-2.5MPa. When pairing with a filter press, a variable pump is recommended, whereas a low-pressure pump is more suitable for slurry delivery to minimize wastage.
Model Selection: After finalizing the above parameters, opt for the YB series ceramic plunger pump. It’s advisable to err on the side of a larger pump rather than a smaller one.
Seek Expertise: If uncertainties arise, don’t hesitate to contact the manufacturing experts. Professional engineers and technicians are available to assist in the selection process.
